A Gym Rat Emerging! Watch Out!

I actually made a trip to the gym tonight. I was in the mood to exercise midway during the day. Two days in a row is nice, but I’m starting to feel pain in my legs. I think I’m going to have to soak my legs with pain relief cream tomorrow (rather later on today). It’s close to 4am right now. I had to file my taxes and finish the last entry. I spent the last two hours trying to change the font on this page. I think I did something before to change it and I have no idea. Maybe if I search previous  entries I might find something. I hope I wrote about it. The font is really annoying me. It is on Arial right now and I hate that font! As I am writing this I am trying to remember the years of web design experience, in hopes to decipher the coding of this theme. It’s giving me a headache! I hope by the end of this entry I’ll have the font and size that I want here. If not, bare with me while I tweak this blog and try to dismantle my perfectionist attitude. It’s starting to drive me nuts! If I was rich, I would hire a proofreader and designer to take care of ever little nuisance I have with this blog.

I’ve been listening to Imogen Heap all night since I got in from the gym. I think I listened to Tidal, Swoon, and Wait It Out about five times each. I have the vocals and instrumentals so I repeat both versions, so that’s about ten times each. I already expressed how much I love her music so I won’t go into that obsession here. Now I’m listening to Bad Body Double for another five to ten times. On my itunes playlist, Wait It Out (Instrumental Version) has been played in full 482 times. That doesn’t count the many times I rewind a certain part that I love, which is from 1:28 to 2:44. I am very sure the amount would be tripled if you count that. I have to say Congrats to Imogen for winning an Grammy. I just read about it. I don’t watch tv and don’t keep up with the news so I try my best, when I feel the need to be  updated, which is not often.

Okay… I think I fixed the font. I love Baskerville Old Face. It’s my second favorite to Maximo. I can’t put that font on here because most people probably don’t have that font. I don’t even know where I found it at. I can find almost anything. I hate that I found the solution within minutes into looking at the coding. I was trying to avoid that for the past two hours. I was downloading plug-ins that would take care of the coding for me. I was being lazy. I wasted two hours being lazy, nice! I hope you noted the sarcasm.

The workout I had tonight was extremely ROUGH! I mean rough as in hard and a polar opposite to yesterday! Which is strange because I had more energy today, not too much more but enough. I had more drive and I was actually really happy to get back in the gym based on my last performance. I think I put too much expectation in tonight. Everything went wrong! I’m not discouraged, only disappointed. I was so disappointed at the end that it really didn’t matter if I was listening to music or not.

I think I figured out the right music I need to listen to. I need the two extremes. Either really mellow and trippy, or very loud and nonstop beat driven. There’s no middle ground unless I haven’t heard the song in years. I love the songs I had on my playlist but they weren’t helping me with the jog. I kept skipping and there was only one song I listened to all the way and that was Carpe Noctum by DJ Tiesto. All the rest I skipped a minute after listening. Close to the end, my ipod dropped and I had to stop to pick it up. This is the second time that happened when exercising!!! After that I forgot to lock the ipod and the playlist jumped to another song/playlist completely. The song however was Fire by Scooter. Maybe it was a sign saying don’t give up. At that point I already did.

Yesterday I went in another gym that is a part of the one I normally go to. They were doing renovations and they gave me access to other gym. The treadmills are different there and I managed to do 2.0 incline with not too much trouble. Today in the gym I normally exercise in, I was on my regular treadmill. 2.0 felt like 4.0 on that machine. At first while I was walking, everything was fine. After I started jogging I couldn’t keep up for two minutes. So I was on 1.5 for the rest of the workout.

The worse thing is that I forgot the primal ingredient in my workout. WATER!!!!!! I was already there and I had no money to go to the machine to buy a bottle. I didn’t want to go back to my apartment, so I was stuck doing the workout with no means of hydration. It made the biggest difference. I felt like I was going to pass out a couple of times. I couldn’t run without feeling fatigue. I didn’t know water made that much of a difference.

Next time if I don’t have my water, I’m not going to bother exercising. I love ice cold water. It always gives me an extra boost. It was a terrible workout. At the end, I wasn’t paying attention what song was playing, I just wanted to leave. I will do better on Thursday. I am determined!!!!!

Here are my stats: yeah I’m putting my head down on this one.

Treadmill

3.37 miles in 46.52 minutes

2.0 incline to start but most of the time I was on 1.5.

511 calories were burned.

I reached 3 miles at 41.57 which is about two minutes more than yesterday. It’s big but not too drastic. Considering what happened, I’m lucky it wasn’t a bigger gap. I am very disappointed by this time. Oh well…

Weight Training

Leg Extension: 30 reps at 20 pounds

Hamstring Curl: 30 reps at 20 pounds

Multi-Chest Machine (Strange machine): 30 reps at 20 pounds. I like that it worked my arms and chest.

Barbaric Tendencies Playlist:

I thought this playlist was going to psyche me up and fill my veins with venom, but it did the exact opposite. I need more time to make a playlist. However, the ipod didn’t shuffle to a few songs that may have made a difference. Who knows….

  2. Rapture by iiO
  3. All Nite (Don’t Stop) by Janet Jackson

  6. Closer by Nine Inch Nails

  17. Gravitys Rainbow by Klaxons
  18. The Dope Show by Marilyn Manson

At least I know what NOT to do for Thursday. It’s after 5am right now and I need some sleep. I am going edit tomorrow. Sorry if this post is all over place.
